Again, the last thread was getting a bit too long. I'm about to enter the last battle of the game, btw, so I'll probably be done with my 2nd game later tonight. I've saved my game already, so after I beat the game I can go back and try a few...things which might "break" the game. I've already tried a couple of things with the item shops, but the game handled it well :o) Yes, I enjoy looking for bugs/glitches, and I've even been known to spend several hours in order to just try one thing in a game :o)

Very well then, on with the latest batch of reports (which will probably all be in this thread, considering I'm already at the end of the game):

After you travel back in time to Isaly's house, Isaly asks Paris, "Be by my side." It might sound better if you changed it to "STAY by my side." Incidentally, two lines after this one, Dorothy chimes in and tells Paris exactly that, "Stay by her side."

Funny how I never noticed this...considering how many times I rode the elevator. Anyway, when you try to ride the elevator to the 3rd floor, it prompts you, "This elevator goes directly to the third floor. Do you want to ride it?" You are then given a choice of "Yes please!" or "You must be joking." I think there should be a comma in the first option, like so, "Yes, please!"

I'm not sure if this also happens in the original, so I'll post about it. This is about the bucket in which you place the Shiny Pebbles. Up to about 43 or 44 Shiny Pebbles, Myra keeps track of the number of pebbles stored. After 43 or 44, she says the following, "I wonder if there are any more?"

If you speak to Emilina (in the past) about the chest of drawers, she says, "If you can do that for me, I'll open the chest of drawers for you." Considering the chest of drawers is never open, rather moved, I suggest changing the line to read "If you can do that for me, I'll MOVE the chest of drawers for you."

In Pioneer Town (in the past), there's an old NPC basking in the sun by the Train Station. Once you get the "Mystery Seed" and speak to him, he says, "Well, I should be heading back soon." and proceeds to leave immediately. Shouldn't that read, "Well, I should be heading back NOW.", considering he left right then and there?

Ok, these are both similar, so I figured I'd post them together. In scene 1 (pic 1, left side), giving Emilina the Priphea Flower results in her asking, "How on earth?" In a different scene (Star believed Marion to be dead, yet she reappears) (pic 2, right side), Star exclaims, "But how?"

Both of these sentences express surprise/shock, so I think they'd both benefit by adding a little extra punctuation, like so: "How on earth...?" and "But how...?"

This isn't really an error, more an observation (on my part). In the same room where you have the showdown with Limitz (the Golden Palace, I believe), there's a very ornate seat which looks like a throne. If you examine it, Myra says, "It's just a chair." I just thought her description might be a bit...I don't know...lacking :o)

After you obtain the Gold Card from Limitz, if you go to the tower and examine the strange machine a scene plays out. After the scene, if you examine the machine again, Myra says, "Star, Marion and Krill...". Should be, "Star, Marion, and Krill..." [Note comma after "Marion"].

After you return to the Golden Palace, Emilina asks you, "Did you find a way to fix Barkley?" "Fix" means to repair something (inanimate), so I'd suggest changing the word "fix" for something else, like "help". Either that, or a small re-write, like so: "Did you find a way to GET Barkley BACK TO NORMAL?" I think that'd be more work, though, but I'll leave that to you :o)

Right before the battle with Kandel, a scene plays out in which Star basically says "Goodbye". One of his lines reads, "...my life up until now and the way I live from now on...". I think a few commas, sprinkled liberally, might make it more readable, like so: "...my life, up until now, and the way I live from now on..."

After deafeating Kandel, if you examine the place where Kandel was sealed Myra exclaims, "The mural is broken!" I think the word "mural" is a bit out of place here...a mural is defined as a large pictures that's been painted on a wall, and that doesn't really fit the description. If I had to make a suggestion, I'd probably go with either "tablet" or "monolith", as that block sealing Kandel clearly has thickness to it (apparent if you look at some of the pictures where the block is intact).

Ok, finished the game again :o) Not too many things to report, but I did find a few things to comment on. First, however, I'd like to say that I understand it must have taken a lot of work to come up with the ending script, so I just want to clarify that I'm not taking all your hard work lightly in making the next suggestions (quite the opposite, actually, I think the ending script is very good, and it is with great reluctance I am noting the following things).

Before the battle with Oriales, he says the following line, "I take it you mean to stand in my way no matter what." While there's nothing wrong with that line...I don't know...to be honest, I just thought it might sound better if worded a little differently. If I were to change it, it would probably read something like this: "I take it you mean to OPPOSE ME COME WHAT MAY.", or something along those lines.

Ok, this one I probably shouldn't even mention it, but it's something I ALWAYS notice in games where a god/creator is speaking...the use of contractions in their speech. Perhaps I'm mistaken in my thinking, but...I honestly cannot imagine a god or creator speaking like that (after all, contractions are like a lazy way for man to say two words in one). To have a god (who's supposed to be much higher than man) speak like ordinary humans has always struck me as odd. I do understand a balance has to be struck...after all, the game is going to be played by people, so taking a god's speech to the other extreme wouldn't work well either. The only suggestion I'd make here is that, whenever possible, try to do away with as many contractions as possible in Oriales' lines. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else notices things like these, or is it just me :o)

Before the battle with Oriales, Lenardo says this to Oriales, "...there are some who think mankind is good precisely because it's imperfect.". That line is perfect, actually. Why bring it up, then? I think that if you were to change the contraction "it's" to "it is", the line would empasize man's imperfection. The first thing I thought when I read that line was, "This line would probably be better if it said, "...there are some who think mankind is good precisely because it IS imperfect."". Written this way (with a bolded "IS"), I think Lenardo's argument is bolstered somewhat.

This one might be intentional, not sure. After Myra regains her memory, Dorothy asks, "Was that Radiant Priestess...", followed by Myra's answer, "...It's me...".

The only thing I'd note here is the change of tense between Dorothy's question and Myra's answer (Dorothy asks a question in past tense, while Myra answers in the present tense..."It's" is a contraction for "It is"). If intentional, that's fine, otherwise I'd suggest changing Myra's answer to read, "...It WAS me..."

After defeating Oriales, the building starts to collapse. Leon says, "With its master Oriales gone, the Temple of Dreams has lost its power." Hmm...this one's a bit tricky. Part of me says to put a comma right after the word "master", like this, "With its master, Oriales, gone, the Temple of Dreams has lost its power.", but that sounds really strange. The problem is that both words, "master" and "Oriales", are together. I don't think both words CAN be together unless it's a title (for example, "Master Oriales), or a lowly underling uses it to refer to Oriales. In order to avoid butchering the original line and having it sound weird, I'd suggest a small re-write, like this, "With its master gone, the Temple of Dreams has lost its power.", or this, "With Oriales gone, the Temple of Dreams has lost its power."

Finally, the last one I've found. While making their escape from the temple, Leon decides to stay behind. Later, Lenardo tells Myra, "He stayed by his own will...". The only suggestion I'd make here would be to change the line to read "of his own will..." instead of "by his own will..".

Well, I think that's about everything (that I've caught, anyway). That's why it's important to have more people submitting reports, errors missed by one are caught by another, plus you have different viewpoints and opinions as well. What's next? There's still a couple of things I'm going to try in the game, but I don't really expect the game to "break". I already tried going over 100,000 Gold, but there's a fixed limit of 65,000...time to check what happens when you hit level 99 :o) There probably won't be any new reports from me until after the next patch is released (unless I stumble across something else, which seems unlikely). I do apologize if some of these reports seem long-winded, or if it looked like I was trying to fill the board with reports...since the first report I submitted, I've only wanted to help improve an already great job. If even one of my submissions helps at all, then I think that was time well spent. Thanks again, satsu/Disnesquick. I can honestly say that playing the game was a lot of fun :o)

Ackk...I'm back...it took me 6 hours, but I did it. I managed to level up Myra to level 99. I wasn't sure how the game would handle it, as I've seen some game programmers just assume nobody will ever take the game to such levels, so I wanted to make sure it didn't crash or affect the game in any way. There wasn't much fanfare upon reaching level 99, aside from the normal "level up" tune that plays. I did notice that Myra is not getting ANY experience anymore. To be honest, had I not found an exploit in the game's system, I probably would have given up on levelling up the characters to level 99. Reason? After a certain level (around 54 or so), the game discourages the gamer from over-levelling by only giving the player 1 experience point per turn (even if you kill several enemies at once...occasionally the game will be generous and give you 3 or 5 points). I was at level 54 when I started levelling up today, so that way of levelling up would have taken way too long.

So, does the game reward your wasting precious hours of your life, er, I mean, your steadfast dedication, in reaching level 99? No, not really, aside from having all your base stats at 99 (incidentally, Myra STOPPED gaining points at every level-up at level 74, in my case, and each subsequent level-up didn't grant any points to the stats since they were all at 99 already). I'll continue levelling the rest of the characters to level 99 tomorrow, as I need a break of that today :o) Did someone say something about "vaunting our strength"? You got it...one over-levelled party, coming right up, haha.

I'd also like to add a couple of comments/observations that I just remembered today. It's regarding the item descriptions for two items, the Spool of Clothos' Thread and the Wings of Eternity. The Spool of Clothos' Thread description says the following, "Goes back 3 turns." That's actually a bit unclear...when I first used it, I expected the game to "rewind" my characters' actions 3 turns, but that didn't happen. Since I only used Clothos' Thread ONCE during my first play through the game, I dismissed it as a useless item because it didn't seem to do anything. It wasn't until my 2nd game that I figured that it must affect the turn counter...sure enough, I checked the turn counter and it had gone up by 3. I'd suggest changing the item description slightly, like this, "Adds 3 to Turn Counter.", and for the SPOOL of Clothos' Thread I'd add another description, like so, "Adds 3 to Turn Counter. (Unlimited Use)". It goes without saying that I immediately sold the Spool of Clothos' Thread during my first game, and it turns out that it's probably THE most important item in-game, lol.

The other item, the Wings of Eternity, has a good item description. However...during my first play, I received it from Irene, so I promptly checked the Item Description...hmm..."Returns you to the island map."...what...I can buy the same thing for 150 or 180 gold at the Item Shop, so, to the BIN you go, you useless item, you! It turns out that the Wings of Eternity is an unlimited use item, whereas the similar items available at the Item Shop are one-time use only. I'd recommend changing the description to reflect that, as it's not readily apparent :o)

I wanted to add to the comment in #22 above, about the Spool of Clothos' Thread. I got to thinking about the name and it suddenly hit me...that's named after the Fates, right? From Greek mythology? Lachesis, Atropos, and Clotho, iirc. If that's the case, the item name should probably be changed to "Spool of Clotho's Thread", as the name "Clotho" does not end in "s".

In the Sound Test screen, song #19 is listed as "The Fortune-teller guide"...I know I already mentioned that there's no hyphen in the words "fortune teller", but that was for the game script. This is more of a bonus/extra screen in the game (which many won't ever bother to check), so I just wanted to make a note that this happens here also.

This...I'm not sure what's going on, but if you play song #41, "Elena", all you hear is a series of strange sounds, unlike any music I recall hearing in-game. At first I thought this was specific to the translation, but I checked the original Japanese game and it...plays the same thing. Not sure what those Taito programmers were thinking there...oh well.

I'm back...I finally levelled up the entire party...yeah, I know, wasn't necessary, but I wanted to. Anyway, as I mentioned in post #22 above, I found an exploit in the game. Using that, I was able to level up from level 53 all the way to level 99 without ever killing any enemies. That's what I was wondering about. Basically, I "locked" a monster in place by placing Gulliver right in front (blocking the monster's path), then I used the Spool of Clotho's Thread on whoever I wanted to level up. Using the Spool of Clotho's Thread gives you 2 experience points each time you use it, and by having the monster's path blocked the AI 'skips' its own turn, allowing me to use the Spool of Clotho's Thread until I run out of Balance Points. Now then, here's my question...when you use Clotho's Thread or the Spool of Clotho's Thread, the words "End turn." appear on screen. Does this mean the character who used the Thread should have his/her turn end immediately? That's what it sounds like, but that's not what happens. I have no idea if this happens in the original as well, but it does seem a bit strange.

Anyway, I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but in case you want to take a look at the exact scenario where I'm using the Spool of Clotho's Thread, I've uploaded a save file here:

If you do take a look at it, it's saved in the BATTLE slot, and Dorothy is the only character who's making moves at the moment (the others, Star, Lenardo, and Leon are "blocking" more monsters from re-spawning). Dorothy does have the Spool of Clotho's Thread, and you can basically use it non-stop (until you run out of Bal. points).

Finally got a chance to check out the BGM for Elena and, sure enough, that's the same "music" that plays from the machine in Lenardo's basement. Nice catch, F1sigma!

It's a shame they chose that particular BGM for Elena...it would have been better if they had gone with something different, like BGM #40 (which is really nice, but for a different character).

itoikenza: Hmm...not sure what's going on, but I just clicked the link and the download finished just fine. It's an 8 kb .srm file, so Mediafire shouldn't be in a rush to delete it. Anyway, I was able to download the file. Just to be on the safe side, I clicked it a second time and a stupid ad popped up (DriveDownloader, or something like that). I closed the window, clicked it again, and this time the download did complete.

My suggestion? Try it again, a couple of times, and if it still doesn't work I'd suggest entering the link into another browser (Firefox/Chrome/Internet Explorer, etc). If you still can't get the download to start, let me know & I'll see about uploading the file at another filehoster.

Oh, and, FYI, there's nothing really special about that particular save, aside from the precise character positioning (namely, the 3 characters in the back row, which prevent new enemies from re-spawning after you end your turn). All I did was this:

1) Use Spool of Clotho's Thread
2) Receive 2 Exp. points
3) If you still have Bal. Points, repeat from step 1. If out of Bal. Points, just End Turn, then start over from step 1. Since no new enemies are re-spawning, you don't have to waste time waiting for them to finish their turns.

Yeah, it was very time consuming, but I semi-automated the process using a program called Xpadder (so all I had to do was keep pressing a button on my controller, then moving a set number of spaces).

Anyway, I hope that helps and that you are able to complete that download. Let me know if you're unable to d/l it.
