Came across some scans of the character profiles from the manual at this site:

I'll provide translations here.

Estimated age: 21
The heroine of this game. She's a bit of a dreamer and has a bit of a reputation for being unreliable. She uses her talent with string-whips to fight...elegantly?

Gulliver
Lenardo's mechanical companion. Though he was inherited from Lenardo's late friend Limitz, how he was made remains a mystery.

Lenardo
Gender: Male
Estimated age: 60
An old man who has mastered both science and medicine. Something of a mad scientist with a mysterious past. Fights as a team with Gulliver.

Star
Gender: Male
Estimated age: ?
He might look like a weedy, fresh-faced youth, but in actual fact, he's an immortal with another personality lurking deep within. He uses the powers of his other self in combat.

Pygma
A baby dragon that's very attached to Dorothy and follows her everywhere. He's the last of his kind on Zamlia Island.

Dorothy
Gender: Female
Estimated age: 10
An unfortunate orphan. Perhaps as a result of this, she acts rather precociously. She's not very strong, so she relies on the baby dragon that accompanies her for support.

looks great, but how does the game play out? looks like a SRPG, but can you explore places like towns and such. or is it like most other SRPG's the kinda go cutscene/battle/repeat?

@Anonymous
Ah, bless.

@jhutch
Nope! You can explore freely like non-strategy JRPGs. Half the game, you can explore towns and dungeons freely, but when a battle occurs, it's grid-based movement etc. like a traditional SRPG. Does that help?

nice, really looking forward to this one, thanks for all your work!!

9 Name: Davin : Wed, 12 Sep 2012 03:40:37 GMT ID:xqGk/t1d [Del]

Many years ago, I played this all the way through in Japanese without being able to read a word of it. (with the conversation system that obviously involved a lot of trial and error)

Looking forward to it!

I tried a few minutes of this pre-translation, but now that it's in English, I'll see if I like it enough to go through it.

Thanks for the translation, anyway. :)

Wow, pretty neat stuff. I always fought for first rights to the manuals when I was a kid, so I could go through character artwork and the three sentences bios. The games weren't and still aren't ugly, but they don't do the character designs justice. Someday, I'll know the origin of that bizarre two-cape fashion statement. Someday, I'll know the origin of that bizarre two-cape fashion statement!

This project was actually the first thing I ever saw on romhacking.net some years ago, and it's awesome that it ended up being completed. I was interested in the screenshots back then, and what I've played so far has surpassed that curiousity quite a bit.

The game itself is a piece of magic. The isometric design allows for some brilliant dungeon design, and the conversational dialogue flows smoothly while moving the story. The battle system feels archaic and just a little tedious, and Myra is about as balanced as Contra's Spread Shot, but for what it tries to accomplish on the SNES, I think performs admirably.

My ultra-casual background in ROM hacking and less casual interest in writing helps me see how much work it must have been to work on this game. Those menus and text boxes...I know this translation and high-level hack wasn't made for me, but I'd still like to throw some kudos out to the people who spent so much time and work on something I'm able to reap some enjoyment from.
